Missions Interest Application

Introduction

Due to the high volume of interest in the course and with the limited space and resources available, we must occasionally limit participation. This course is primarily designed for missionaries, foreign nationals – and those are most likely to put the information to use directly to the needy in developing nations. Although these are given priority, please do not assume that you won’t qualify given that description.

There are many other options for attending, church group representative, individuals interested in traveling ‘overseas’ to help, etc. The price of the course is generally $1,000.00. * This includes food, lodging for the week, and the course itself. During the hands-on course, we will drill, case, condition and complete a well (usually two). We will also build and install a pump and finish a well head. In addition, participants build their own sample pump, well pump head, and other appropriate technology items during the shop portion. Two drill bits and a manual are also provided as part of the course.

In addition, to the technology, you will be exposed to the ‘well club’ methodology and the missiological philosophy that has resulted in thousands of wells in countries in which the WFA system has been employed. This cost represents a ‘break even’ (or below) cost. This is a ministry intended to help the poorest of the poor gain access to water, it is not a money-making venture.

*The cost of the course may be abbreviated or waived for nationals, and ‘on the field’ missionaries who intend to apply our technology and missiology in the countries in which they minister, and in some cases, we offer scholarships under other circumstances.

US Citizens and Residents

Although the course is not dangerous, we must require proof of insurance that covers illness or accidents for the period covering your time during and at the course, a day before until a day after the period with us, 7 days. Simply demonstrating your carrier and policy number would be sufficient. If you are uninsured, the travel insurance recommended below, for foreign nationals, provides a possible option.

Foreign Nationals and Non-US Residents

If you are applying from outside the USA, please be advised that we are legally and financially unable to provide assistance with visas, travel funds, or accommodations in the United States (apart from the week of training).

Although this course does not involve significant risk, all participants are required to obtain traveler’s insurance that is accepted by the local hospital to which you would be transported in the event of illness or a medical emergency. For your convenience, we recommend securing coverage through Seven Corners at the following website: https://www.sevencorners.com/#start

Please select the “Liaison Travelers’ Elite” policy. This plan provides comprehensive coverage, including up to $1,000,000 in medical benefits, medical evacuation to your home country, and repatriation of remains, if necessary.

This coverage is accepted by Shannon hospital in San Angelo and is part of United Health care network according to Seven Corners website. Such a plan for the time you are at Water for All should cost around $50.00 U.S. dollars. You will need to obtain coverage from the day before the course begins until a day after the course ends – 7 days of coverage. If you are accepted to attend the course, we will need for you to send a copy of your policy prior to the course. If you are accepted to participate and this requirement, for some reason, would prevent you from attending, be sure to let us know.
